Lakeside Dining Where the View Earns Its Own Seat

American cuisine, live music, and dock-and-dine access on the shores of Greenwood Lake.

About Us

Thirteen Castle Court sits right where the road meets the water, and at Cove Castle Restaurant that geography is the whole point. Pull up by car or tie off your boat at the dock, settle onto the deck, and let the panorama of Greenwood Lake do what no interior decorator ever could. The water catches the afternoon light differently every hour, and the crowd that fills the dining room knows it.

The kitchen turns out American comfort with enough care that the menu holds its own against the scenery. Starters arrive at the table looking the part, and the broader menu moves from crowd-pleasing classics to dishes worth ordering twice. On nights when live music drifts across the water, the whole experience clicks into place in a way that's hard to manufacture elsewhere on the lake.

Cove Castle is open Wednesday through Sunday, which means the kitchen has time to do things right rather than grind through a seven-day slog. Come midday on a Friday or Saturday, come for the Sunday afternoon stretch before the week resets, or arrive Wednesday evening when the crowd is a little quieter and the lake feels like it belongs entirely to your table.

What We Offer

The dock-and-dine setup is the headline offering: boaters can pull directly to the dock, skip the parking lot entirely, and walk straight to a table with one of the best water views on the lake. It is a genuinely rare convenience on Greenwood Lake, and regulars plan their weekend runs around it.

Beyond the dock, the restaurant runs a full American menu anchored by appetizers, entrees, and a bar program that keeps pace with a long afternoon on the water. Live music nights add an atmosphere that transforms a good meal into a full evening out. The dining room and deck both carry the view, so whether the weather calls for inside or out, the lake is always part of the experience.

Brunch service kicks off Sunday at 11 AM, making it a natural anchor for a lazy end-of-weekend morning. Weekday lunch on Thursday and Friday offers a lower-key way to enjoy the same scenery without the Saturday crowd.

"Probably one of the best views of the lake for dock & dine experience but the food, while ok and a decent menu is not as good as other lake establishments such at D’Boathaus and Emerald Point."

"Three family members and I came to this restaurant on a Saturday night. Immediately, the hostess was very friendly, greeting and accommodating. We had optimistic hopes for dinner. After sitting down, the restaurant had a band come up and perform. The music was good, but incredibly loud, almost deafening. Our waiter comes over, asks what we would like to drink. Some of our table orders drinks but some people within our party used the bathroom. They return to the table and are patiently waiting to order a drink. We waited almost 20 minutes before service returned. The waiter comes back to the table and immediately asks what we would like to eat. It was concerning that the service was already forgetful about the members in our party. We said to each other “I doubt it will be like that all night”. We ask them to put in drink orders for the party member taking a biology break. THE WAITER SAYS OKAY AND LEAVES AGAIN! We wait another 20 minutes. Finally, he returns with waters but forgot a few beers and a coke we ordered. We had to ask again. Some time passed and they bring us the beers and ask us for our food orders. As we eat, the server never once asked us if we needed anything else. We finished eating and were out of water and beers at this point. We sat patiently waiting for service to return. Another 30 more minutes pass before service returns to ask if we are finished. We decided to give them one last chance. The food was still fair and we figured “maybe dessert will be the best part”. Our waiter returns after a bit and we politely ask for a dessert menu and a few more drinks. The gentlemen returns with a dessert menu maybe 5 minutes later, but no beers. We remind our server of the beers and place orders for dessert. Finally, dessert arrives. We eat it and find it sub par. After eating, we ask for a check. It takes almost 20 minutes for him to bring us a check. Overall, the food was average, the waiting service was terrible and the atmosphere was easily forgettable. Our dinner reservation was 5:30. WE DID NOT LEAVE UNTIL 8:15 pm!"

"The food was good. It was better than average. The location is great right on the lake. The service was very good. You can arrive by car or boat. I would go back if I was in the area, especially on a night when they have music. I suspect they are very crowded then. The restaurant is dog friendly."
